hats

What makes a good fishing hat?

For me its how well it blocks the sun
Both in terms of keeping the sun off, but also in terms of stopping sun getting in your eyes
Most baseball caps seem to have a light colour under the brim, which really annoys me - the light reflects back into your eyes

I want - no need - a hat with a black underside

Found this on special at the outlets on the weekend

waterproof (goretex 0h yeah! just what I need for sunny Ireland), windproof, light AND black underside

super

ok it won't protect my neck or ears but seeing as I tend to wear a UV Angler Buff anyway that doesn't matter

More nymphing

One of my best friends told me a few years ago that he was going to try and concentrate more on nymphing

So I'm going to do the same

In order to do this I'm going make a one box grab bag so I won't be tempted to fish dries or lures
So we have the box:

the weight

the indicators (will carry yarn as well)

neat

I was told by a very good fisherman recently that in Montana good guides are using 2 small indicators a short distance apart rather than one large one so they can see movement easier and check drift better
might be worth trying

Found

DWJ - found!

And where was it hiding?

In the xmas lights - obviously. Where else would it be?

Cool. Now I have 2 high quality rain jackets - just what I need for sunny Ireland!
